Why the bee?
My last name starts with the letter “B” and in college I won Homecoming Queen, resulting in people calling me Queen B/Queen Bee. It stuck with me and I started using it for social media handles and just my alias.
Bees are curious insects by nature. They display consistently higher levels of exploratory behavior. I like to think of myself as a curious person, hence the brand name, and this serves as the inspiration and motivation to travel. When I was thinking of a logo/brand, a bee just made sense to really represent me, not only for my travel hobby but also because it reminds me of power (ability to fly goes against physics—anything is possible!), brightness (warmth, sun, and light), and community (productivity, providence, and protection).
Where do you see your blog-self in the future?
Short-term goals for my blog are just to capture every ‘adventure’ I take. I want to be able to document my travels (and other lifestyle topics + curiosities), share tips, and even learn more from my visitors and readers. In order to add more interest to my blog, I want to also use this as a catalyst to learn more about photography and other digital design.
Long-term, I hope to expand the blog with many more topics of interests and also hope it leads to digital and/or social media opportunities in the future [big dream].
